The aim of this activity is to enable pupils to develop a simple model of population growth and use it to make predictions. The website www.worldometers.info provides real-time data about population, births and deaths,  and a variety of other world information. Students can extract values from the website, record them in a TI-Nspire spreadsheet and plot graphs from which mathematical models of population can be developed.
