Ultrasonic Sensor Mount for Rover

Here's a simple method to reliably hook additional Ultrasonic Sensors (aka Ranger) to the TI-Innovator Rover.

As is, the TI-Innovator Rover comes with a front mounted Ultrasonic Sensor, to detect obstacles in front of the Rover. Advanced TI-Innovator Rover experiments often require more sensors to better analyze the surroundings of the Rover, such as to the left or right side of the Rover.

As a solution, here's a little 3D-printable clamp which holds the US Ranger (or any HC04-SRC type US sensor), providing a flat, electrically isolated back, which can be mounted to any flat surface with glue or Velcro (aka hook & loop detachable tape).

WARNING: Once snapped in, it will be difficult to remove the clamp from the sensor PCB and damage to either, the sensor PCB or the clamp, might happen. So, start thinking about a permanent mount before you assemble the clamp to the sensor. Also, klicking the sensor into the clamp will be easier if you chamfer the tiny clip holders with an X-Acto knife at both of the small sides of the clamp holder.

Happy STEM coding!
